Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

Young Somerset’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Service helps children and young people feel happier and more confident. We know that life can be difficult sometimes, so our team is here to help if you feel worried, sad, or anxious.

We offer one-to-one support, group sessions, and school-based help. Our Wellbeing Practitioners use Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT). This is a way of helping children and young people understand and manage their thoughts and feelings.

Our support comes from two main services:

  • Community Wellbeing Service (CWS) helps young people in schools and local communities. It is funded by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and offers flexible support outside of CAMHS.
  • Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) work in schools to support students with their mental health. These teams work with Somerset CAMHS to help young people when they need support.

We also support young children (ages 0-5) and their parents. Our Pop-Up Tots sessions offer fun activities and support for families. We also offer support to parents who need help with their child’s big feelings, relationships, and behaviour at home.”.

All our services are free, confidential, and easy to access. Everyone should get the support they need, when and where they need it.
